Hello World!
Recently our class was given the nail biting question “What is being in the moment?” in theater terms.
I bet your wondering too.
Well here was my initial thought:
“Being in the moment is being in character at all times on stage”
But it wasn’t until I did some research that I realized the in-depth meaning on being “in the moment”, to me being in the moment is allowing yourself to let loose on stage by allowing the emotions and distinctiveness of a character to show through so that the audience no longer see’s an actor on stage, but they see a character.
A good example of an actor “being in the moment” is Denzel Washington in the movie Malcolm X; Mr. Washington played Malcolm X so well that it was sometimes hard to tell the difference between the two.
